What's new in Owl and Wallflowers Store?

Lots of new vintage nature books in Owl and Wallflowers Etsy store this month. I also released a new  botanical jewellery collection earlier in the month, with a selection of pressed flower necklaces and even a few pressed flower bookmarks. The Forget Me not pieces are turning out to be very popular, and also one of my favourites to make!

I also has a mini toadstool and fungi themed Etsy update earlier in the month which proved very popular. I had some lovely vintage mushroom guides including some books from the Balndford 1960s colour series and also the very collectable Oxford nature series from the 1980s.

Some lovely antiquarian nature books in Owl and Wallflowers Etsy store this month, including this beautiful, rare 1920s Bee guide, as part of the Shown to the Children series.

I also added some very beautiful 1920s trees, butterflies, wildflower & garden flower guides to the shop this month,

Even some antique nature guides from the 1800s!

Little Update

It's been a very busy few months for Owl and Wallflower! Thank you all so much for all your support and orders!

I've been very busy adding lots of handmade jewellery, botanical notebooks and vintage books. Also, I have ventured into offering a small selection of antique books (over a 100 years old) in Owl and Wallflowers Etsy store.

This beautiful book below is part of the Look about you Nature book series, published in 1907. This book is now sold and on its way to its new home!

(SOLD) I have a few books in the Wayside and Woodland series, including this lovely little book published in the 1920s below.

(SOLD) I also have a few little antique books belonging to the Shown to the Children series including wildflowers, birds and birds nests. All are lovely little books and would make a wonderful addition to any nature book collection.

I will be closing Owl and Wallflowers Etsy store for a little summer break but when I return I will be launching a whole new jewellery collection, including a make a wish dandelion seed collection.

First Week of February

Happy February!

The first few days of February have been very busy for Owl and Wallflower...

I've made a small section of hardbound sketchbooks using upcycled vintage book pages as my last few proved so popular! There is a Spring theme for these ones,  think wild Violets and nesting birds.

I've also added a few of these very lovely tiny collectable botanical prints to Owl and Wallflowers Etsy store. Which is your favourite? I just love the bluebells in the woodland!

I've started to press spring flowers in my vintage flower press. Hopefully these are the first of many springtime snowdrops. I'm planning on some really lovely snowdrop botanical lockets once these are ready!

I've been getting my pencils and watercolours out again for a little bit of painting, like this peacock butterfly below. This is something I wish to continue throughout February, whenever I get a chance, eventually amassing a small collection of butterfly, wildflower, birds and toadstool illustrations.

I spent a while photographing this Field fern locket, alongside my little green vintage Observers fern guide, ready for adding to Owl and Wallflowers Etsy store.

Botanical Lockets.. Larkspur, Narcissi, Viola, Queen Annes Lace, Potentilla and Marjorie Fair Rose.

Also - New! I have these three pressed flower lockets on a rose gold plated chain.. Queen Anne's Lace, dried Hydrangea and pressed Alchameila Mollis. I just adore rose gold, and may have to make another of these for myself!

Also, I had a mini update midweek with a few vintage Wildflower nature guides. The illustrations are all so beautiful and I will be wrapping up these books ready to send to their new homes tomorrow.

Work in Progress and new direction for the blog

I've been working on some new pieces recently.  Little hand sculpted clay toadstool necklaces, dried flower terrarium necklaces,  pen and ink wooden pendants using a fallen branch, filigree bronze coloured leaf woodland necklaces and little middle night owl necklaces using tiny amethyst crystals.

I've also been considering a new direction for the blog. I want this space to be a sort of journal, where I post regularly and share my process. Some of the things I'd like to focus on include...
Aromatherapy, natural beauty products, diy tutorials, adapted recipes, A journal of my adventures, walks, hikes, camping trips, crafts, sharing my work in progress, necklaces I've been making, my experiments with pyrography, working with clay, drawing and little watercolours, nature observations and my inspirations

I hope you all will like this new direction. πŸŒΏπŸ„
