Walk in Malham, Yorkshire

Walk in Malham, Yorkshire. Through a bluebell wood, covered in wild garlic and to the waterfall Janets Foss. The name Janet is a reference to Jennett, Queen of the fairies who inhabited the cave behind the waterfall. Ross is the Nordic word for waterfall..

From here we walked upwards to Gordale Scar, an impressive limestone ravine, supposedly formed from melting glaciers.

We walked over rolling hills and fields to Malham Cove, a cliff formation out of limestone rock, 260 ft hight. After we walked to Malham tarn, a National Trust Glacial Lake. I didn't take any photos later though, as the weather became very stormy and windy so I kept my camera away to keep it dry.

Woodland Walk

A poem by William Henry Davis

When April scatters charms of primrose gold
Among the copper leaves in thickets old,
And singing skylarks from the meadows rise,
To twinkle like black stars in sunny skies;

When I can hear the small woodpecker ring
Time on a tree for all the birds that sing;
And hear the pleasant cuckoo, loud and long --
The simple bird that thinks two notes a song;

When I can hear the woodland brook, that could
Not drown a babe, with all his threatening mood;
Upon these banks the violets make their home,
And let a few small strawberry blossoms come:

When I go forth on such a pleasant day,
One breath outdoors takes all my cares away;
It goes like heavy smoke, when flames take hold
Of wood that's green and fill a grate with gold.

Spring is coming

Spring is coming. I'm so glad. The flowers are growing, and the days are getting longer. Here is a lovely little hare I made recently. I couldn't resist keeping him! I hope to make more soon, for the Etsy shop.

I'll be updating the shop soon with lots of lovely new things!  I'll be listing little terrarium vial necklaces filled with dried flowers, bronze acorn earings,  resin flower bobby pin sets and some little honey bee necklaces..
